Contact us via email: hi@MELTDOWNinMD.com to begin planning your visit.  Discounted rates below are available during non-peak hours, and most projects fall between $15-$18 per child.  Peak Hours are Thursday and Friday after 5 PM, Saturdays, Sundays and any days CCSP are closed.  Click on the tabs above to view some badge project inspirations.

Basic pricing guidelines:

Ceramics (Paint Pottery)
  • single visit, turn around 7-10 days
  •  projects start at $15

 

Canvas
  • single visit, take home same day

 

  • 8 x 10 canvas $14
  • 12” square canvas $18
Board Art
  • single visit, take home same day

 

  • 12” Board- $20
  • 10” x 18” Board- $25
Wet Clay Projects
  • Single visit possible, but 2 visits preferred.  Second visit can be as a troop or individual.
  • 1 visit projects start at $12
    • 2 visit projects start at $18

The Girl Scout Daisy flower makes a wonderful project!  Daisies can create the flower on pottery, clay, canvas or board projects.  There are also Daisy-friendly pieces (shown) we can order for you! Other reasons to come get creative include:

  1. Seasonal Projects
  2. Gifts- Holidays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, teachers, etc.
  3. Charity- Create Empty Bowls or Believe Mugs with your troop.
  4. Just for fun!

Petal Pottery Projects:

  1. Be a Sister to Every Girl Scout. Activity at Meltdown:  Create a project that has a design similar to the one shown here.  NOTE:  Actual design will have fewer kids to make it easier.😊
    1. Canvas- Kids will trace the design, then paint.
    2. Ceramics- The design will be pre-fired onto a plate or a box. Kids fill in the colors.
  1. Courageous and Strong. Activity at Meltdown:  Learn about Frida Kahlo and then do a “Fierce Like Frida” project.
    1. Canvas: Trace on, then paint
    2. Pottery: Pre-fired Frida face, kids add colored fingerprint flower “hair”.
  1. Promise Center
    1. Clay: Create “promise” hands from the girls’ handprints in clay.
    2. Canvas or Ceramics: Create an “I Promise” design.
  1. Considerate and Caring
    1. Create Believe Mugs for BelieveBig.org
    2. Create Empty Bowls for EmptyBowlsBaltimore.org or another local organization hosting an Empty Bowls event.

    1. Build a Bug Canvas- Design, then paint your own bug.
    2. Ceramics- Paint a bug figurine.
    3. Clay- Create a caterpillar or ladybug on a leaf.

 

  • Outdoor Art Creator
    1. Leaf Pressing. Can be done on canvas, pottery, or clay.
    2. Create a flowerpot “head” that incorporates a plant as hair.

 

  • Painting
    1. Paint the real world
    2. Paint a mood

    1. Learn more about graphic design and how it differs from drawing.
    2. Create a logo of your name or monogram
    3. Project: Transfer the logo onto either canvas or pottery

 

  • Business Owner- Financial Literacy
    1. Create a piggy bank to start saving for college or start up money.
    2. Discuss importance of capitalizing on trends and then create a piece that fits a trend. (Licensed characters, “paint night”, emojis, unicorns, etc.)

 

  • Animal Habitats Project: Create a toad house from stoneware clay.  This clay is outdoor-friendly. Two-visit project, only.

Badge Suggestions

  1. Cadet Comic Artist. Create a 4-6 panel comic story with your troop.  Then, come in and bring your story to life on either a canvas or a 4-sided container (wood or ceramic).

 

  1. Cadet Trees. Research an organization that plants trees to help the environment.  Plan a “Create Night” with Meltdown where participants will create a tree-themed project.  Designs available in ceramic, clay, fused glass, canvas or board art.  The event will be open to the public and Meltdown will donate 15% of the proceeds to the organization your troop chooses.

 

  1. Senior Room Makeover. Create something to be used in the room you’ve made over.

 

  1. Senior Create Sky Art– Create a project with a sky or galaxy design. Available in ceramic, canvas, or board art.
